Alain Lodewijckx

Completely unexpectedly, Alain started sculpting in 2023. He had just retired and had some time available. What started as an experiment turns into the discovery of a natural talent.

He mainly works with soapstone and serpentine from Brazil, India and Zimbabwe. Through many hours of filing, sanding and waxing, the beauty of the stones is revealed. He is mainly inspired by the stone itself, which gives it an abstract shape.

Alain is a completely self-taught artist, his motto is “When inspiration calls…be ready!”

He exhibited for the first time at Nobody&Friends. Together with his wife, painter Christina Art, who returned for the 4th time. They were present from March 6 to 16, 2025.
