Hetty Hameleers

Photographer Hetty Hameleers has lived and worked in Switzerland for more than 15 years, but she still likes to return to her beloved hometown of Antwerp very often.

Her photographs push the boundaries between photography and painting. She achieves this by skillfully editing balanced combinations of her own photographs – consisting of a main theme and various macro shots of textures. The result fascinates and intrigues and often manages to build a deep connection with the viewer. So deep that many clients develop a personal bond with the work. They talk to it, give it a name, find support in it. Hetty’s art lives with them, is part of their world, and above all offers long-lasting beauty and meaning.

Many works that are exhibited during the summer exhibition can also give rise to conversations or awareness. Hetty will give very subtle clues about each work, where there is more information behind it, but it is up to the viewer, whether they want to discover this or not.

Hetty, together with Nadja Verhulst, will exhibit for the first time at Nobody&Friends from July 31 to August 17, 2025.
